What an exciting week.

This week was a busy one... Dylan's first day of SCHOOL!! Caleb got his second tooth, Luke worked 2 night shifts (which I hate), Caleb started to crawl, and Simba (Lion king) arrived.

Dylan had a great first day of school, he didn't even cry. Unfortunately most of the children in his class do not even speak but I'm sure Dylan will keep the teachers busy. Caleb started out the week by doing the inch worm...and now by the end of the week he is crawling, not fast but a slow crawl. So I guess I'm really going to be busy now!!!

we're here for a good time.............

My parents just left on Sunday they were here for a week.....it sure was nice. It's great to have a few extra hands around to help out with the kids. We always seem to have so much fun hanging out together reminiscing about the good old days.
I sometimes wonder what it's going to be like when Dylan and Caleb have kids .....and how I want to be a special part of their children's lives. One of my favorite memories of my grandmother was her sending me little packages. I was always so excited to open them and see what treasures she sent. The box usually consisted of a new dress which I would wear the next sunday to show off to all my friends.
All those memories come back when the boys receive little packages in the mail. Last week Dylan received a parcel from Nana. He was so excited to open it. It was hard for him to get through the whole box because he was so excited with the plastic animals he didn't want to see what else he got.

I hope that we will always live close to the boys 'grandparents' so that we can always visit and create everlasting memories together.

Finally It works......Pictures from camping!!!

Summer Lovin'

The summer has come to a screeching halt the thermometer said 6 degrees this morning and I started to wear my flannel PJs again (lucky Luke) The last few weeks have been filled with company and many exciting adventures!! The highlight of the last few weeks was camping at Dinosaur Provincial Park with the deVries Family. We had great escapades climbing up the Hoo-doos and throwing in the occasional comment like "Nice hoodoos" We had such an awesome time looking for Dinosaur bones. Can't wait to go again! I have to admit the thought of brining two children under the age of 2 camping for the first time was a little stressful. But all my worries and anxiety vanished the moment we set up camp and I did a little bit of nesting. Although have a huge 5th wheel of course would have made the trip more comfortable but then it would not have been called camping. On the way back to Calgary we stopped at the Royal Tyrell Dino. Museum. Where we had a little scare with Dylan ...he vanished just like the dinosuars did. But we found him and all is well! Now Dylan keeps telling us he doens't want to loose us again. Upon arriving back into Calgary Christa and the kids were here. Thanks for the great visit Christa. I loved having my house full of children.. I guess it sorta reminded me of daycare. All the children got along great and I was amazed at how Dylan was so willing to share all his toys. My parents are here right now helping us all out. My mom has been watching the kids while I organize Dylan's new room. And I've made a new scrapbooking table...nothing fancy but at least have a little space to create.

AHHH Quiet time

Having two children under the age of two is some days quite a task. But it is very seldom that I find myself with both of them asleep and me wondering, "What should I do?" So I guess I 've decided to blog.

The days of summer seem to have past us by even the nights are getting really cold. Most of the smaller trees in our nearby park have all turned yellow. Dylan will be the only Sheppard headed back to school in September. Poor daddy....he misses school already..YIKES! I personally think he's insane. Anyways, Dylan has been put in the three year old class I hope he does OK. He isn't even two and a half and my little baby will be with all the BIG BOYS.

So much for my quiet time Luke just came up and interrupted my blogging....three hours later Ok so now I'm back on track...Luke headed off to work. I find it so strange that I sometimes complain of having no free time and then when I have at least a half hour I struggle to keep myself doing "me" things. Me things involves activities like: painting my nails, scrapbooking (which I never do...but have all the necessary supplies) and baking. Instead I do laundry, dishes, and mop the floors. Ok so enough writing about it I think I'll go paint my nails!!

Late night

The children are all nestled snug in their beds....
AND I CAN'T SLEEP!!
So I'm surfing the net seeing what might catch my eye. I'm busy trying to learn how to take better photos so maybe the internet has some helpful insight. Dylan is in a phase right now where he will not let you take his photos. So in order to take his picture you either need to be sneaky or bribe him with a tic tac...both are very successful. Well here are a few photos that are my favorites.
GOOD night...I hope

Update

Well where should I begin. No wonder no one ever reads our blog we can barely write in it once a week. Swan River, Manitoba was wonderful...little did we know that the hotel we stayed in didn't have internet. The only added bonus feature it did have was a fly swat hanging beside the dusty cofee maker. I'm feeling really lazy today...unmotivated. The boys are both busy entertaining themselves and I'm doing nothing. This TO-DO List is just getting bigger the longer I sit...WHAT TO DO.
I think I'll eat the jersey milk chocolate bar sitting on my counter calling my name. Maybe that will give me some energy to cross a few things off the list.

Day 1

Day 1 of our odyssey to the province of Manitoba. I write this entry 4 hours into a 13 hour drive from Calgary AB to Swan River MB. An uneventful afternoon consisting of travelling down unusually staright sections of highway has landed us in Kindersley SK. Grasciously (and relatively cheaply) we will spend the night at one of Kindersley's finest lodging's...The Super 8. Outfitted with such modern amenities as running water and flushable toilets we expect our stay to be pleasant and comfortable albeit brief. Since there is really nothing else to report - I will end this post and invite you all to return in the near future to share with us the adventures we shall encounter over the next few days.

Amazing night!!

Last night Luke and I a headed out for a Hot date..... WE went to Phantom. It was my second time seeing it but Luke's first. What a production! It blows me away every time. How do these performers do it? Night after night.... Trying to give the best performance they can. And how does Christine not lose her voice? And the final question I'm left with is, "why can't I sing like that?" It sure is nice to get out of the house once and awhile, just the two of us. The kids stayed home with the aunties. My boobs were a little sore from 6 hours without feeding Caleb...but I survived. Today we should hear something about the house we are going to try and buy.... we are just praying that something will work out!

Stampede YEEHAW

Dylan in the beer gardens!!! Chug-a-lug!!!

HA HA HA.....

I'm sitting at my computer listening to 5 kids outside my window bantering back and forth. There are 4 boys and one girl....This is what has transpired...
"you can't hit girls," " Yes I can," " And I know people that can hit girls."... " Did you know you have hair under your armpits and it's black?" "I have hair under my armpits too wanna see....?" They all have a look...... , "Did you know your pit smells funny?",........" Mine don't I wear deodorant."
I know that one day very soon that will be my two boys outside chasing girls and smelling each others pits. And I promise they won't smell!!!!

Summer fun!!

I just returned from a week in beautiful BC. I was brave enough to travel back to BC with 2 kids all by myself (almost slit my wrists). But I have to admit it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I went to my 10 year grad reunion in Penticton. I had a great time reminiscing with old friends. It's amazing how no one had really changed appearance wise. I left Dylan in Kamloops for the weekend and brought Caleb with me. I then spent the rest of the week in Kamloops sitting around the pool and relaxing. Dylan really loves the water a little too much. He really had no fear. He has really started to exercise his imagination lately and come up with the funniest stories. Last night as I was tucking him in he was telling about the baby in his tummy, "It's a little girl mommy want to see her?" Trying hard not to laugh I went along with it until he started to talk about booby juice and breast feeding the baby. It's amazing sometimes how a child's mind works. Just when you think they can't get any more cute.....They do!

We are alive and well

Yes we are still all alive....
We haven't had internet for over a week and I even went without a phone for a week too. But starting tomorrow I should be all up and running again. So I promise I'll post lots of pictures and a HUGE write up!!!! Luke just finished having 6 days off so we've been out on great family adventures every day.... Today we finally stayed home.. I have to admit it was good but I did feel a little bored. On Luke's days off we went roller bladding twice and yesterday we headed up to Kananaskis. It was an amzing day of hiking and playing in Barrier Lake. We were the only people at the lake....well except the 2 french girls in there rubber dingy. They didn't seem to mind Luke swimming in his underwear.

Really once again there isn't too much new out here in Calgary. Karen leaves today and my parents just arrived yesterday. Dylan and I went to a new preschool yesterday and registered him for the fall. The teacher there wants him to be in the older kids class..ages 3-4...still not too sure how I feel about that..he is still so little!!! I think I'll get Luke to bring Dylan to school on the first day. The preschool is 2 days a week and the class is two hours each time. It will be a nice break for me and Dylan. It looks as though we will be staying in our condo for awhile longer we just can't afford the house prices in Calgary. But we continue to pray that God will send something our way... We are heading to Kamloops on the 21 of June and staying for about 6 days. See you all then...I hope!!!!!
